A body teetering on the brink of collapse, consumed by its inner emptiness, anguish, and exhaustion. The pain is not merely an emotional torment but a tangible manifestation, rendering the body vulnerable, frail, and fragile. Succumbing to despair with two broken legs, the body relies on external metal supports to lift itself. As it gradually breaks free from these supports, a transformation ensues. Though still unsteady on the ground, it cautiously begins to reclaim its strength.

Our bodies are a fundamental inseparable part of the natural world, not separate or privileged to it. The fountain represents a constant entanglement of water in human and nature. Water circulates through us, takes the temporal shape of our bodies, and then flows onward into the world. As water moves through bodies, exterior becomes interior and vice versa.

Relational Ground. A material response to the social dynamics of Estonia. The Hague, Nederland graduation.kabk.nl/2025/liza-zazimko The project explores how designed artifacts can propagate social cohesion, sense of belonging, and trust within a linguistically divided context. Jewelry becomes a medium that manifests a social commentary: ritual-based artifacts that aim to connect people through shared participation and embodied gestures. In Estonia today, language often acts as an artificial barrier - a marker of loyalty, a source of prejudice, shaped by historical trauma and collective memory. Drawing from the country’s cultural landscape, natural symbolism, and events-as-symbols, the speculative artifacts propose gestures of proximity, trust, and collective engagement. The goal is not to impose unity, but to create space for it to emerge. The envisioned Estonia is not of ethnic hierarchies but of cultural harmonies. A community where pride is not exclusive and inclusion is not conditional. In a country of many voices, belonging must be practiced. Connection is a double-sided responsibility, and is intentional, not automatic.

Confession The Hague, Nederland Confession examines ignorance as a deliberate position - the ease of looking away from what does not touch us directly. The project exposes indifference as a social disease, where neutrality becomes a way to neither feel nor take responsibility. By using restrictive, confrontational objects that physically deny the possibility of turning aside, it disrupts the comfort of avoidance and invites a moment of self-interrogation. Confession asks what we hide behind when we refuse to see.

Alu The Hague, Nederland ALU transforms aluminum into intimate, responsive forms. A collection of wearable objects that come to life through contact with the body. Each piece embraces the imperfections of casting. Aluminum responds to touch and time, allowing the material to age, scratch, and live alongside its wearer.
