Een doorlopende aanwezigheid in mijn autonome kunst praktijk ligt bij het kleine alledaagse dat in constante verandering zijn vorm aanneemt. een concept dat ik vanuit verschillende kanten onder handen neem. Kijkend hoe de mens zich verhoud tegen en met zijn omgeving, waar het kleine vaak voor lief wordt genomen. In een tijd waar we leven in een constante wervel wind waar het opstaan na het vallen niet meer meegerekend wordt, want het rennen voor het grote is waar we tot worden aangetrokken. Het kleine, het geen dat zich zacht uit zonder te schreeuwen maar juist door te verstillen zijn schaduwen vult.
Mijn werk als autonoom kunstenaar varieert tussen installaties en sculpturen gemaakt uit natuurlijke materialen en fotografie. Ik zoek hierbij een fundamentele relatie tussen natuur en ambacht. Werkend vanuit een materiële waarde waar ik een poëtische gevoel van kwetsbaarheid en breekbaarheid weergeef in een momentum van verstilling. Een omarming van vergankelijkheid en herinneringen. Dit geef ik weer door het maken van fragiele ruimtelijke composities die door een gebalanceerd houding met elkaar verweven en een dialoog starten. door middel van analoge fotografie verstil ik momenten en hou ik het breekbare vast. Een ruimtelijke kalligrafie bestaande uit verschillende lagen uitgedrukt in natuurlijke materialen die zich altijd in verhouding stelt met de omgeving waarin het zich bevind.

2025when a branch breaks west end den haag , Nederland when a branch breaks it hits the wind when the wind gets hit, it remembers the feeling of once carving a harsh surface it becomes two it becomes a potential of finding a balance, an unknown arrangement, a fragile combination in stillness a pause is needed, a slowness, a brief break for sticks to become temporary roots, for materials to get aquatinted with each other, for an eye to notice the corners there is patience, resisting the fast pace, not wanting an immediate nest by letting a tool soften a surface, caress after caress, liquifying the spikes how does a branch break? who is there to collect it? how does the sun hit shadows and how does your breath make it swing? to find a silent balance within Solo

2024topiary Pulchri studios den haag , Nederland “Topiary, afgeleid van het Latijnse woord topiarius, een schepper van verschillende gebieden door middel van sierlandschappen. een praktijk die verwijst naar een dialoog met een levend sculptuur gevormd door tijd, groei en kleine ingrepen die ze in gedefinieerde vorm houden. dit idee van vormen en gevormd worden met een constante dialoog van de materiële aanwezigheid is iets wat overeenkomt met mijn praktijk. een proces van verzamelen, orderen en vormgeven om materiële dialogen op gang te brengen en de tijd daarin vast te houden en de verstrijking hiervan weer te geven.Voor dit project wil ik een beschouwing tonen door de esthetische traditie van stillevens als een middel te gebruiken om de verwaarloosde fragmenten van onze materiële omgeving te behouden en te belichten. This dialogue started as an investigation around the idea of ellipses, under diverse viewpoints: linguistic, visual, material, theoretical, speculative. 2022unfolding territoties greyspace in the middle denhaag The Cockroach collective is a group of 46 students infesting the landscape of photography and exploring the possibilities of the medium to go beyond traditional definitions. UNFOLDING TERRITORIES: Co-creating Through Cartographies of Care is a collective effort to expand the definition of care aiming at the broader understanding of what care means in the contemporary world and how art can be seen as a manifestation and tool of care. The act of creation is an act of care, creating work is a movement towards expression of one's honest desire to connect with others. In our exhibition we would like to share what we care about, in the ever changing world that surrounds us. We have been driven to create an an opportunity for everyone, the audience and the artists, felt seen and listened to. At our core we are guided by equality, inclusivity and respect. The willingness to take care of one another is a representative trait of our time when we all need additional support. These turbulent years are reflected in the ways we create work and the themes we explore. Furthermore, we want to challenge photography and explore it as a means of care to reflect our world today.
