Aron Lodi

Áron Lődi (b.1996, HU) is a visual artist working across a wide range of disciplines from sculpture, installation, and image-making to publishing and curatorial collaborations. Concerned with contemporary narratives of resistance, capitalogenic crises, and the legacy of the Eastern Bloc, his work embraces the coalescence of horror stories and emancipatory possibilities. This framework is materialized through the combination of fabricated and found elements, shards of cultural and material memory, references to Gothic literature, and concepts of new materialism. He currently lives and works in The Hague. He graduated with an MFA from the Dirty Art Department at Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. He is a founding member of the Budapest-based U&K Magazine publishing project and part of the artist duo ALAGYA (w/ Szilvia Bolla). In 2022, he initiated a para-academic program and lecture series titled Contaminating The Soil That Nurtures Greed, focusing on “Second World” artistic strategies. In 2024, he co-organised and curated the MetaforumX: Permacrises conference at Trafó House of Arts in Budapest, produced by the Institute of Network Cultures, Amsterdam. In 2025, he curated an event series, titled Refusal Model, dedicated to showcasing artistic practices at the intersection of contemporary dance, and club culture. His works were exhibited internationally at A Promise of Kneropy, Bratislava; Vunu Gallery, Kosice; Semester9, Amsterdam; Modem Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts, Debrecen; Studio Hanniball, Berlin; 1111 Gallery, Budapest; Jedna Dva Tri Gallery, Pragovka Gallery and Galerie Rudolfinum, Prague. In 2023, he was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart. In 2024, he received the Klára-Herczeg Award together with Szilvia Bolla from the Studio of the Young Artists’ Association, Budapest.
