In my project I intend to create a socially urgent photo book and a future exhibition in collaboration with Ukrainian artists, to show how much impact the full-scale russian invasion has on the cultural development and manifestation within the Ukrainian society, and what constitutes a critical cultural infrastructure. In search along the frontline cities Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Kherson, I want to learn about the dynamics of cultural production of Ukrainian artists who stayed put and kept expressing themselves despite trauma and daily russian destruction. What is their motivation to create: why do the painters paint, writers write, performers perform, musicians compose and photographers photograph…?

2025Interwoven Vrij Paleis Amsterdam, Nederland "Interwoven" is a group exhibition that explores the connections between the Dutch and Ukrainians, many of whom have found refuge in the Netherlands. The exhibition showcases the work of 14 contemporary artists from both countries, highlighting their diverse individual and collective practices, which are united by common threads. Through deeply personal artworks and cross-cultural collaborations "Interwoven" explores the enriching and challenging ties that bind people and cultures. It showcases a curated collection of thought-provoking art pieces, including paintings, installations, photography, and audio-visual work. This artwork - moving, and sometimes ironic - invites visitors to contemplate the far-reaching impact of war and reflect on their own experiences of conflict, both on a global scale and within their own lives. www.380art.com Groep

2023‘Home Made. Create, Produce, Live’ CID - Centre for Innovation and Design Grand-Hornu, België From the “chambrelan” (old French for somebody who works from one room) to the “maker”, working in the home has a long history. It continues to remind us of the relationship between a given time period and its output, as well as the link between an object and where it was made. Self-building, self-produced and sometimes redistributed energy, and even prepping give new meaning to the term “homemade” these days, with the spread of 3D printing, the revival of the old industrial and manufacturing outskirts of towns and cities, but also the housing crisis and the environment more generally. It is within this context that disciplines are being reinvented, often using craftsmanship as a model. In the era of open source technology, remote working and Covid-19 lockdowns, what links are being forged between the domestic space, work and objects? Will future production be marked by extreme individualism (making for oneself) or a form of collectivisation (contributing to a network)? How are cities and regions preparing to manage this new network of creators, small producers and engaged users? A selection of international designers and collective projects are presented alongside a collection of experiences, testimonies and objects to better understand the creativity at play in these new working environments. 2020‘Past Perfect Continuous - View On Crimea #1’ MINA Amsterdam, Nederland Crimea always was a place to arrive and to leave again. Over the centuries, many have wanted to own this diamond-shaped peninsula. Many settled, but they eventually had to move on, sometimes centuries later. You can feel at home, but no one can ever really own Crimea. In this day and age of Russian occupation generations of Ukrainians are not willing to visit Crimea, families are divided between the peninsula and the mainland, and there are thousands of Crimean's who had to flee from economic or political threats and rebuild their lives as internal displaced refugees in mainland Ukraine. For so many Ukrainian people the Crimean landscape is full of emotionally resonant sites, that act like a frame of reference and enshrine someones identity. Are we all destined to feel nostalgia for the past that we have never experienced ourselves, and why do we wish for our loved ones not only to remember the written or visual accounts of our past, but to melancholically dream up images, sounds and smells of the places in our memories that they couldn't have remembered? Do we seek an escape, a portal to another world? A hidden secret, a truth? Solo

2024Forever and a Day Exhibition Melkweg Expo Amsterdam, Nederland Forever and a Day showcases projects made in Ukraine over the past two years, in which it becomes palpable how difficult it is to get a grip on the here and now. Plans and dreams have been postponed. Of the fourteen, mostly young, participating artists, most chose to stay in Ukraine during the ongoing war. Several works depict the loss of future prospects, and anticipate the fact that Ukrainians do not know when the war will end. The desire for a spot on the horizon, for a future without occupiers, is part of a desire for meaningful reconstruction. After all, war is not just about destruction, mutilation and homelessness; it is above all the loss of the fundamental sense of security and, as a result, confidence in one's own ability to read and influence situations. www.melkweg.nl/nl/agenda/forever-and-a-day-19-01-2024/ Uitgevoerd
