A life experience of being a migrant; A sense of estrangement; A reframe of migrant experience. The State of The Migrant is a fictional short film about an anomymous girl who tried to survive in a moving life in the post apocalyptic time. As the second generation of migrants living in Shenzhen(a migrant city), a sense of estrangement occurred due to unsettled living Conditions migrants experienced in the city. The sense of estrangement occupied the portal where I expressed myself. In exploring ways to engage with my migrant experience with others, I started by making self-recordings to write a fictional story that stemmed from my migrant experience, the reality.
