I noticed missing a feeling of total meditation in my surroundings where stress or instant impulses control us. In this project I am exploring ways in how to deal with these patterns in the performance society by analyzing the urban surroundings. It’s human to act in a repetitive way, as in performing certain routines. Nature has the same kind of repetition, which we often use as a calming aesthetic; the motion of the waves, the trees moving by the wind or the blooming of flowers. During my daily walks I started to create balancing piles of stones with construction materials. Referring to the technique used in ancient times where a landmark was left behind for the next person to pass by. These sculptures became monuments of a present moment.

Zen gardens are places where new ideas are created through the use of metaphors and the fluidity of the natural sand, the street where a structure has to be followed and where there is no possibility of shaping anything by ourselves. Throughout a collaboration together with a road building company I merged those two elements together in a performance by one of the workers.
