Omschrijving werk
I'm a Taiwanese artist currently living and working in The Hague,Netherlands. In 2006, I graduated in Classical Music Department, Shih Chien University, Taipei, Taiwan and continued studied in The Royal Art Academy, Art and Science interfaculty, Den Haag,Netherlands, graduated in 2010. I collaborated with, among others, the choreographer Kirstie Simpson, photographer Maria Rebecca Ballestra and different theater groups and musicians in Europe. My interest is exploring the relationship between physical and sound environment and focus on the change of body reaction towards sound. Discovering the essence of body movement in live performance. For example, when musicians play instrument, they use different part/muscle of the body. To observe body's co-ordination in details which may lead to a new perspective of perceiving a live performance. I would like to elaborate this phenomenon by using the method of performing in an extreme tension/concentration of body. As I am performing regularly with dancers and musician, the sensation of concentration is one of the key element of my practice. Concentration opens senses for perceiving things in different perspective. Through researching the relationship between human body and instrument, my aim is to realize this phenomenon in live performance.
