Since 2003 I have been collecting water and/or sand from places that I visited. When friends go travelling abroad I ask them to bring back some water and/or sand for me. All these bits of other ‘worlds’ then become part of a growing collection. The samples are preserved in glass bottles with labels listing the date, country, city/town, river/lake/sea and the name of the traveller.

Since 2002 I have been making individual portraits of my parents on every occasion we meet. The photos are kept in books complete with the date of the meeting. This is an ongoing project. My father passed away in January 2021.

Since 2000 I have been collecting cinema tickets along with the names of my companions at the movie, kept in a wooden box for at least 50 years of cinema.

This ongoing collection started at elementary school. Since then, I have been asking people I meet for their passport photo, as well as their date of birth and the date on which the picture was taken. One page from the first book.

Since 2002 I have been keeping notes of people who visited my room. Every day is represented by one centimetre on a timeline. When nobody came by or when I was away, the spaces on the timeline are left empty. The dates and names of people are painted on a wall using black ink. This was a 10 year project, finished in 2012.

Since 2008, I have been sending out questionnaires to people that I have met and with whom I have had one or more good conversations. The questionnaires include several formal questions and three questions about Life. The project will be repeated every five years to show the passing of time.
