Basten Rolf Stokhuyzen approaches artistic research from a linguistic perspective. Very important to his daily practice is his relation to sound and music, to reflect upon the forms of language. This cross-disciplinary research practice opens up new associations and metaphors wich is the fuel for his work. Currently, he defines his artistic vocabulary in relation to the conceptual framework “art hates culture”. One can say that he is fascinated by the risk and possibilities of a conceptual precipice.
