Omschrijving werk

When I was 18 year old, I made myself a dress out of my mum's stunning tablecloth . I can't forget the look on my friends' faces when they saw me in that tablecloth. It all started as a challenge, when I decided to make clothes for sale. I had an idea: making loose-fitting coats (which are the Islamic outfit in Iran for women) out of denim and cotton fabrics. Soon after that, I started making all kinds of clothes,eventhought I was self-taught, even for pattern-making.That's when Dressing women and making them feel good about themselves became my inspiration, ambition and my job. In 1998, we moved to Holland. I started at the Royal Academy in Den Haag in 2000. Starting at the academy was confusing in the beginning; my background had always been commercial rather than artistic. Although I had my own design ideas for clients, but it took me some time to free myself of the boundaries. Studying in KABK expanded my artistic abilities, and helped me learn more about myself, my work, and how it had been influenced by my culture. I also discovered my passion for making textile.I am fascinated by creating silhouettes which are sculpt the body, glamorously revealing new shapes, from the mold of our natural body and also using different technique to make the suitable textile which can be used in the creation of my designs. In 2007 I rented a studio since then I am working on my next collection, I started working with my computer 2005, making series of graphic designs for the fabrics of my next collection. My illustrational designs are complete now they will be used on raw-silk, chiffon, and lace fabrics, using digital printing and other techniques to create my material, for my next collection.My plan is to present my next collection at the Amsterdam fashion week, in July 2008.
