Myung Feyen : "Time and people are involved in everything I do. If the whole history of mankind is based upon what memory preserves, then recollections shape our personal existence. By completing or filling up the still empty rooms of our memory, we refine our identity. Memory can define a person in its totality, while physicality defines the individual in the moment. Our faces, clothing and the images we carry reflect the temporality of our lives. Temporality is the perfect circle that encloses life. The use of photography, writing, film and many ways of collecting form my working methods. They are visualised in time-based projects that sometimes take years to be completed."

| Omschrijving | Since 2002 I have been keeping notes of people who visited my room. Every day is represented by one centimetre on a timeline. When nobody came by or when I was away, the spaces on the timeline are left empty. The dates and names of people are painted on a wall using black ink. To be continued until 2012. |

| Omschrijving | Since 2003 I have been collecting water and/or sand from places that I visited. When friends go travelling abroad I ask them to bring back some water and/or sand for me. All these bits of other ‘worlds’ then become part of a growing collection. The samples are preserved in glass bottles with labels listing the date, country, city/town, river/lake/sea and the name of the traveller. |

| Omschrijving | Recollections of events create the basis of existence for every individual. The first memory is when it all starts. After a research about time experience I asked people to write down on paper the date of that present day and their current age; the age of their first memory and the first memory. |

| Omschrijving | During a certain period three friends went separately abroad for different reasons. I asked them to make every three days a self portrait. Every three days they received a postcard from me. To one I sent drawings, for the other I attached Polaroids with everyday moments, and the third person received postcards from the places where I was at that particular moment. When they returned I recollected my postcards and put them chronologically together with their self portraits in three booklets. |

The questionnaires include several formal questions and three questions about Life. The project will be repeated every five years to show the passing of time. |
